RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday evening to discuss bilateral ties and key global issues.
Rubio arrived in Saudi Arabia earlier in the day ahead of critical talks with Ukraine aimed at resolving the ongoing three-year conflict with Russia.
According to the source, the two leaders reviewed relations between Saudi Arabia and the US, exploring ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, focusing on efforts to promote security and stability.
The meeting was attended by US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, while Saudi officials present included Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman and Saudi Ambassador to Washington, Princess Reema bint Bandar.
Rubio is in Jeddah ahead of scheduled discussions with Ukrainian officials on Tuesday. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also arrived in the Kingdom on Monday.
